WANT TO BUY A NAME? "PILOT" FIELD'S DAYS ARE NUMBERED
Published March 6, 1995
Buffalo's Pilot Field will be renamed after corporate sponsor Pilot Air Freight Corp. failed to make its annual payment for the naming rights to the stadium. Pilot Air Freight had pledged about $1M to name the field Pilot Field, but failed to make its annual $51,000 payment to retain the rights. The city plans to resell the rights to another sponsor (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 3/3). The field is home to the AAA baseball Buffalo Bisons.
