GATES SAYS WINDOWS 95 WILL PREVIEW SOON

Microsoft Corp. CEO Bill Gates said the company will soon
preview its Windows 95 program by sending out 400,000 test copies
to selected users this month. The "much-touted, much-delayed
upgrade" is scheduled to be released in August, but Gates "left
open the possibility of another delay." Speaking at the CeBit
Computer & Communications Trade Show in Germany, Gates said the
PC in 2005 "won't look like what it is today. It'll look like
many different things." He estimated 20M homes will be connected
on large "web-like computers" by 2000. Gates, who said, "No
single company will be able to do this," predicted that several
large partnerships will develop in the next five years (BLOOMBERG
BUSINESS NEWS/ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 3/13).
