NATIONSBANK TOLERATES VISA'S OLYMPIC CREDIT CARDS
NationsBank, who paid $40M to be the sole U.S. Olympic bank sponsor, is not making an issue of Visa and several Atlanta-area banks' marketing of Olympic-related credit or debt cards. Steven White, a credit card consultant: "I don't think they want to offend Visa or the Olympics." Nationsbank is a Visa customer and promotes its own Olympic credit card." NationsBank released this statement: "We expect nonsponsors to do what they can. We are confident that by July, 1996, the millions of customers in our franchise will know NationsBank is the official bank of the 1996 Olympics" (Rodney Ho, ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 2/8).
