  • DALE EARNHARDT, NASCAR'S HOTTEST ENDORSER

         In the latest issue of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, Ed Hinton
    profiles DALE EARNHARDT.  In '93, his "grassroots" company, Dale
    Earnhardt Inc, and its partner companies, earned an estimated
    $42M in "souvenir sales alone."  And last year, although "the
    numbers aren't all in" yet, Earnhardt surpassed the $50M mark for
    souvenir sales (SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, 2/6 issue).

         Appointments at the newly formed PGA Tour Licensing.  BRUCE
    SIEGAL was named VP/Gen Counsel; BILL ADAMS is VP/CFO;  MIKE
    BATTLE was named as VP/Marketing and DIANNE SHOEMAKE is PR
    Director (PGA Tour)....Indian slugger ALBERT BELLE will make his
    network TV debut tomorrow night on ABC's "Hanging with Mr.
    Cooper" on ABC (Indians)....WOR radio fired Giants play-by-play
    man JIM GORDON and analyst KARL NELSON.  JIM PAPA, another WOR
    personality, will replace Gordan, while DICK LYNCH will continue
    in his analyst role.  Sources say Giants Owner WELLINGTON MARA
    "had significant input" in the changes (Bob Raissman, N.Y. DAILY
    NEWS, 2/3).
