POCKLINGTON INTERESTED IN ADDING TO SPORTS EMPIRE
Published February 27, 1995
NHL Oilers Owner Peter Pocklington is "seriously considering" buying the CFL Eskimos, according to Cam Cole of SOUTHAM NEWS. Cole writes that Pocklington "wouldn't mind being the baron of all pro sport in his town." Pocklington, who also owns the AAA Trappers: "I've got the infrastructure totally in place, from concessions to management to promotions to contacts in the concert business. The Eskimos, quite frankly, would just be an offshoot of all that" (SOUTHAM/CALGARY HERALD, 2/25).
