ATLANTA NBC AFFILIATE MAKES OLYMPIC SPONSOR DEAL
Published January 20, 1995
A deal between ACOG and Gannett will provide Olympic organizers with national advertising space in USA TODAY and public service spots on Gannett-owned WXIA as part of a sponsorship deal that makes the NBC affiliate Atlanta's official station for the Olympic games. As part of the agreement, WXIA will create Olympic programming that will give games-related information during the Olympics such as ticket information, traffic reports and event schedules. Craig Dubow, WIXA President and GM, says the station's news division will not be affected (Melissa Turner, ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 1/20).
