LOUISIANA AWARDED OLYMPIC-STYLE FESTIVAL

USOC President LeRoy Walker announced Tuesday the formation of the Louisiana Games Foundation, a group that will "oversee" the Louisiana Games, an "Olympics-style sports festival, in April and June in what is expected to be a yearly event." Sam Seemes, technical director for the 1992 U.S. Olympic track trials has been named President and CEO of the Games (New Orleans TIMES- PICAYUNE, 1/17).
