ACOG LOOKS TO INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTIONS FOR HELP

For the first time, Atlanta Olympic organizers are turning
their attention to individual donors. Individuals or small
businesses who contribute as much as $50,000 to ACOG will receive
at least two tickets of the contributors choice for each day of
the games, including opening and closing ceremonies. "Up until
now, ACOG has not sought private donations to help cover the $1.58
billion bill for the Games," and ACOG President Billy Payne had
said earlier he would not look for individual contributions. ACOG
Managing Dir of Games Services Scott Anderson called the new
program an "innovative ticket package," as the program will seek
"patrons" -- both individuals and small businesses who will
receive a variety of perks, including parking and special events
(Melissa Turner, ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 1/13).
WELCOME: Adidas has paid $1.6M for downtown property where
it will establish a hospitality center for athletes and guests
during the Games (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 1/13).
