MONICA SELES' AGENT SPEAKS OUT ON FILA LAWSUIT
Published December 8, 1994
According to Monica Seles' agent, Stephanie Tolleson of IMG, the multi-million dollar lawsuit filed on Tuesday against Seles by Fila is "without merit." Tolleson: "We could not have been more forthcoming in telling Fila, the tennis community, the public and the press that there was no timetable for Monica's recovery from the brutal attack. There were more than a dozen press releases and statements issued, and we went out of our way to publicly deny rumors of her imminent return following her stabbing. We have to assume this lawsuit is just Fila's way of trying to cancel their ongoing contractual obligation to Monica." Tolleson said, contrary to the allegations by Fila, there was never a date promised for Seles' return (Dozoretz Communications).
