The Bristol, CT, city planning commission has granted approval to ESPN's plans to add 21,000 square feet to its main broadcast building. ESPN is also finalizing plans for a new 69,000 square foot building that would be connected to the network's administrative HQs by a skywalk (HARTFORD COURANT, 12/1)....Miami's WSVN-TV became the first Fox affiliate in the country to win a prime-time sweeps race (MIAMI HERALD, 12/1)....Notes from USA TODAY's Michael Hiestand: Fox has offered Jimmy Johnson a contract extension past 1995. Johnson said he will decide before the Super Bowl on staying in the studio or returning to coaching. Injured driver Ernie Irvan will be a TBS analyst for five NASCAR races starting March 5 (USA TODAY, 12/2).
