NAMES IN THE NEWS

     Turner Sports President HARVEY SCHILLER will receive the
Olympic Order from the IOC on December 17.  It is the group's
highest award (Turner)....JOHN KASTBERG, Dir of Finance for THE
SPORTING NEWS, was promoted to VP & General Manager, while Editor
JOHN RAWLINGS was promoted to Senior VP and Editorial Director.
Publisher FRANCIS FARRELL was also named as a Senior VP (N.Y.
POST, 12/15)....TIGER WOODS was named GOLF WORLD's "Man of the
Year" (USA TODAY, 12/15). ....NICK PRICE, on the World Golf Tour
and GREG NORMAN's role: "The tours must listen to him a little
bit, to what he has to say because he has obviously gone out
there and done his homework and found these prospective sponsors
who are keen to get involved in something like this.  Now, why
can't we get together for the good of the game and global golf
