The NFL notes that TNT, which wrapped up its broadcast of prime-time NFL games on Sunday nights, earned a record 8.8 average rating for its '94 telecasts -- a 16% increase from last year's 7.6 rating. Five of the TNT's 10 all-time highest rated games were broadcast this season (NFL).... Viacom, which earlier this year sold off Madison Square Garden and its pro teams, said Friday it is now looking to sell its five network affiliates in Shreveport, Hartford, Rochester, Albany and St. Louis (MIAMI HERALD, 11/5)....Rudy Martzke called ESPN's shaded clock/score graphic "more obtrusive" than Fox's (USA TODAY, 11/7)....On "NFL Live," Will McDonough reported the Raiders have sent a letter to Capital Cities asking for a retraction or apology from ESPN, whose Chris Mortensen said coach Art Shell made a racial remark against Jeff Hostetler, or they'd sue (NBC, 11/7).
