HOOTERS OWNER TO ENDOW CLEMSON SPORTS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Clemson Univ. and entrepreneur ROBERT HOWELL BROOKS announced plans to establish "an interdisciplinary sports institute devoted to the study of sports engineering, management, marketing and communication." Included will be the opportunity for engineering graduate students to conduct research in cooperation with NASCAR racing teams. The Robert H. Brooks Sports Science Institute will be backed by a $2.5M pledge, with endowments to be made through Hooters of America, Brooks' restaurant chain (Hooters).
