EAGLES OWNER LURIE TO DEVELOP COMMUNITY PROGRAM
Published November 1, 1994
Eagles owner JEFFREY LURIE on Sunday visited the White House to meet with Clinton aides in an attempt to develop a "meaningful program" to deal with urban community development. Lurie said several plans were discussed but he is unsure if the Eagles want to develop a kind of umbrella strategy to work with the community or if they want to aid individual organizations on a case-by-case basis. Lurie: "We want it to be long-term support with a sustained impact, not a one-shot deal. We'll probably look a little more before we act" (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 10/31).
