ACOG Pres. and CEO Billy Payne "welcomed Orlando into
Atlanta's family of Olympic cities."  Orlando's Florida Citrus
Bowl will play host to nine Olympic first round soccer matches.
Payne helped kick off a promotion for the Orlando Soccer
Booster's which will help "make it easier for Central Floridans"
to buy tickets before they officially go on sale in '95.  Payne
told business leaders and Florida Citrus Sports that he hears
everybody who is going to Atlanta will go to Orlando: "It's an
indispensable part of their visit" (Bill Buchalter, ORLANDO
SENTINEL, 10/4).
     SECURITY DETAIL:  Congress has appropriated $14.4M to the
Defense Department for security-related logistical support for
the Games in '96 (THE DAILY).
     UTAH'S WINTER BID:  Park City, UT, Mayor Brad Olson appeared
with Willard Scott on NBC's "Today."  The two were at the new UT
Winter Sports Park.  Olson: "We're in the process of bidding for
2002 Winter Olympics and the Winter Sports Park plays a key role
in that."  Skiing, bobsled & luge and possibly the figure skating
would all be in Park City.  Other segments with Willard included
ski jumping and interviews, all with plugs for UT's 2002 bid
(NBC, 10/5).
