FIVE-RING NOTES

     Ollan Cassell, exec director of USA Track, welcomed the idea
that revenues "accrued from track and field at the '96 Games be
funneled back into the US program."  Cassell: "I would think
right now the place we most need (help) is in promotion and
marketing of the sport" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 10/29)....Bert
Roughton, Jr. writes that "Atlanta could well host the Last
American Olympics," saying the IOC will try to "spice things up
by going to either China or South Africa"  "Both offer wonderful
marketing opportunities: particulary China, where half the
planet's population stands ready to become faitful vessels for
Coke and McDonalds" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 10/29)....The Georgia
Soccer Booster Club is pushing its guarantee of Olympic soccer
tickets.  Members of the Club will have the opportunity ot
purchase tickets to the semi-finals and medal rounds before they
are made avaiable to the general public (ACOG).
