BOOK BAG: BEHIND THE SCENES OF TWO NFL TEAMS
THE RAIDERS: Former Raiders team doctor ROBERT HUIZENGA details his tenure with the team in a new book. Huizenga, on Raiders Owner AL DAVIS: "He is incredibly generous to players who have gone out and laid their lives out down on the field. But unfortunately, if you don't do that, he might not be so generous." Huizenga also claimed that, "on several occasions," Davis ordered players to "take a shot." Former Raider Shelby Jordan corroborated Huizenga's allegations: "I felt pressured into taking shots" ("SportsCenter," ESPN, 10/2). EAGLES: MARK BOWDEN, author of "Bring the Heat, a Pro Football Team's Quest for Glory, Fame, Immortality and a Bigger Piece of the Action," was interviewed on "Good Morning America." The book is based on three seasons of covering the Eagles (ABC, 10/3). -
