         SENIOR GOLFER magazine appointed BRUCE GUTHRIE as New
    England Manager of Sales and Advertising (SENIOR GOLFER).
    ....Sunshine Network added three account executives to their
    advertising sales department:  JERRY BRANNON, LINDA HANNAU and
    DEBBIE WILNER (Sunshine)....Reds GM Jim Bowden was given a 5-year
    contract extension, the first time Reds owner Marge Schott has
    given a contract extension to a GM in her ten years as Reds owner
    (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 10/16).

         In Boston, Peter Gammons reports that rumors are circulating
    that PETER O'MALLEY may have the Dodgers on the block, and that
    Sony may be the suitor (BOSTON GLOBE, 10/16)....One of the
    "biggest remnants of BRUCE McNALL's crumbling financial empire --
     the silver and black jet that carried" the Kings -- was
    auctioned Sunday in CA, for $500,000 to the owner of an aviation
    company (VANCOUVER SUN, 10/17).... In Washington, Marc Fisher
    profiles fight promoter ROCK NEWMAN and his close relationship
    with likely DC Mayor Marion Barry (WASHINGTON POST,
    10/16)....News Corp. Chair RUPERT MURDOCH plans to "smooth the
    path for his children to take control of his global media company
    by buying out the interests of his extended family" (N.Y. POST,
    10/14)....In an AD AGE poll of its daily fax readers, 58% said
    that MICHAEL JORDAN's image as an endorser has weakened since his
    retirement (AD AGE, 10/17 issue)....Pistons owner BILL DAVIDSON
    gave the Jewish Theological Seminary of America $15M, the largest
    single donation ever given to a Jewish school (N.Y. POST,

    restaurant is expected to open at Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum.
    The original Gretzky's, owned by the BITOVE family, with a small
    interest belonging to WAYNE GRETZKY, "has been a huge success"
