STADIUM NOTES
Published October 17, 1994
Many reports over the weekend note the Packers' decision not to play in Milwaukee "follows a decade of talks about a new stadium" in Milwaukee. Brewers owner Bud Selig said he will now concentrate on trying to create financing for a baseball-only stadium, saving about $20-25M off the cost of a multi-purpose facility (Mult., 10/16)....L.A. County Supervisor Mike Antonovich has introduced a motion barring the county from spending any funds on the construction of a stadium proposed by NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue. Antonovich: "The taxpayers have just spent $60 million this year to repair and renovate the Coliseum to keep it as the home of the Raiders and USC and make it an appropriate site for a Super Bowl" (Mult., 10/16).
