PREVIEW OF THIS WEEKEND'S SPORTS TV

     SATURDAY:  NBC will carry Notre Dame vs. Brigham Young and
show the golf Skills Challenge at 5:00 EST.  CBS will continue
with their boxing series at 4:30.  ABC has CFA football, with
Penn State vs. Michigan at 3:30 as the highlight.  ESPN will
televise "Midnight Madness," the NCAA's first basketball practice
of the season at 12:00am.  On "College Gameday," Mike Tirico
features the three top 10 teams on probation -- Auburn, Texas
A&M, and Washington.
     SUNDAY:  On Fox's "NFL Sunday," Howie Long will focus on the
new look Eagles defense; Lonnie Lardner features Cardinals
defensive tackle Eric Swann; and Matt Millen will cover the
return of Deion Sanders to Atlanta.  On NBC's "NFL Live," Dick
Enberg interviews Dan Marino; Greg Gumbel speaks with Jeff
Hostetler; and Ahmad Rashad profiles the Patriots' Ben Coates.
At halftime of the Game 1, Will McDonough visits with Patriots
owner Bob Kraft.  On ESPN's "Gameday," Lesley Visser looks at the
Eagles' Charlie Garner, Chris Mortensen examines the Chargers,
and Greg Garber profiles Steve Emtman.  ESPN's "Sunday
Conversation" is Grant Hill.
