WHAT'S NEXT? ATLANTA LOOKS PAST '96
The Atlanta Sports Council is "outlining contests it plans to pursue through the year 2000", in an effort to avoid the post- Olympic letdown that other cities have experienced. The Council submitted a plan to the Atlanta Chamber detailing events they wish to bid for after '96. It includes: '97 NBA All-Star Weekend, '98 MLB All-Star Game, '99 golf championship, 2000 Super Bowl XXXIV, 2001 tennis championship, and 2002 NCAA men's basketball Final Four (Maria Saporta, ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 9/23).
