THE BIGGER THE FAN, THE HARDER THEY FALL
An independent study released yesterday by Opinion Research Corp. in Princeton, NJ, shows that nearly two out of three baseball fans are not disappointed by the cancellation of the season. Some highlights: -- Of "hard core" fans (21% of respondents who were extremely/very disappointed), 38% say they will be "less interested" in baseball in '95. -- 27% said they will be less interested in next season, with 66% saying it will not make a difference. -- 15% of all respondents said they "did not care at all about baseball." -- 63% of all respondents said they were not very or not at all disappointed. METHODOLOGY: The phone poll, conducted Sept. 17-18, surveyed 1,000 adults nationwide; margin of error +/- 3%. -
