NCAA ALLOWED TO RULE ON FSU VIOLATIONS

Federal Judge William Stafford signed a temporary agreement yesterday to allow NCAA jurisdiction over five Florida State players suspended for accepting gifts from prospective agents last November. The NCAA is expected to allow three of the players to resume play this Saturday. Stafford refused to "wing a decision" on a FL statute which restricts NCAA investigations. The NCAA sued the FL Board of Regents last month, calling the statute unconstitutional (Jim Henry, TAMPA TRIBUNE, 9/14).
