Asset Fund Z Capital Partners To Acquire Daily Racing Form

Z Capital Partners has agreed to buy Daily Racing Form in a "bet on the future of online sports wagers." The daily horse-racing publication has "grown to include a digital data offering and a place for horse aficionados to place online bets on races." Z Capital Founder Jim Zenni said that DRF sells "about 5 million copies of its publication annually and drew 72 million bets on its platform" in '16, up 15% from '15. A source said that Z Capital is buying DRF's parent company, Sports Information Group, for less than $100M. SIG in '07 acquired the publication for a reported $200M (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 7/27).
