Fire-FC Cincinnati U.S. Open Cup Match Shifts To ESPN From ESPN2

The TV broadcast of tonight's Fire-FC Cincinnati U.S. Open Cup match has "shifted to ESPN" after it "originally was scheduled for ESPN2." Because the best-of-three Florida-LSU College World Series final wrapped up in two games, ESPN's "prime-time schedule had an opening tonight." ESPN Deportes will carry the Spanish-language telecast. FC Cincinnati as of this morning had sold "more than 25,000 tickets to tonight's match" at Nippert Stadium (BIZJOURNALS.com, 6/28). For the USL club, another big crowd could be "more coal in the boiler for a leap to MLS." Rarely does a team "have a chance to impress its peers and its would-be peers." While an loss tonight, "even a lopsided one, won't hurt their MLS chances," a win "certainly won't hurt" (CINCINNATI.com, 6/28).
