Fox Sports, Spectrum Dispute May Cause Blackouts For MLB Teams

Fox Sports and Spectrum are in a dispute over carriage fees, and as a result several RSNs “may not be available” on Spectrum cable systems beginning Saturday. Among those are FS Kansas City, which has 151 Royals games this season, so “this would be a big deal for Royals fans.” Royals VP/Business Operations Kevin Uhlich: “Obviously we’re concerned. Our first priority is to make sure our fans have access to us” (KANSASCITY.com, 4/7).

FS Sun is slated to air 150 Rays games this season, and coverage “could be interrupted if the cable provider does not reach an agreement” with Fox Sports by Friday night's 11:59pm PT deadline. The carriage dispute “affects more than a dozen major league teams” (TAMPABAY.com, 4/6).
