Eugenie Bouchard Accuses USTA Of Destroying Incriminating Footage

Tennis player Eugenie Bouchard is accusing the USTA of purposefully destroying security camera footage that might be helpful in her lawsuit against the governing body. She sued the USTA after suffering a concussion at the '15 U.S. Open when she slipped and fell in a locker room area. Her lawyer, Benedict Morelli, in a letter to the federal court on Friday claimed the USTA “knowingly discarded all additional security camera footage from the night of (Bouchard’s) accident, without taking steps to institute a litigation hold.” Morelli asked the court to sanction the USTA and allow him to argue the missing footage is adverse to the USTA’s case. The USTA could not immediately be reached for comment.

The suit went back to court after mediation talks between the two sides recently broke down.
