Chelsea Market Fire Prompts Brief Evacuation Of MLBAM's HQ

A fire on the roof of Chelsea Market in N.Y., which contains MLBAM's HQ, prompted an evacuation of the building this afternoon for about an hour. The fire, starting from a cooling tower, generated large plumes of smoke. It was quickly contained and did not create any further disruption to MLBAM operations or those of the various outside clients baseball’s digital arm serves.

Meanwhile, MLBAM today released several new products within its suite of mobile apps and games. “RBI Baseball,” MLBAM’s revival of the popular '80s and early '90s video game franchise, released its fourth annual version, with Dodgers SS Corey Seager on the primary cover. The new game includes a depiction of SunTrust Park, opening next month in Atlanta. As part of Apple’s latest iOS update, MLB.com At Bat and NHL mobile apps will, for the first time on iPhone and iPad, offer team logos as app icon options in addition to the primary league logo icons.
