Former Ravens President David Modell Dies After Battling Lung Cancer

Former Ravens President David Modell died Friday at the age of 55 after a "year-long battle with lung cancer." Modell was the son of late team Owner Art Modell. He served as the team's president from '96 – the inaugural season for the Ravens after relocation from Cleveland – until '04, when the Modell family sold the team to Steve Bisciotti." David Modell "oversaw the contest which led" to the franchise's name and "orchestrated the team's move to M&T Bank Stadium" in '98 (BIZJOURNALS.com, 1/13).
