Incoming USL club Ottawa Fury FC on Friday announced a deal to become the official affiliate of the Impact. The partnership includes a friendly between the two teams in '17 at a location to be determined (Fury).

The NHL and Kings on Friday unveiled a rendering of the Centennial-themed float that will participate in the Rose Parade on New Year's Day (NHL). 

The MLS Cup will be played Saturday night on network television for the "first time in the league's 21-season history." It will also be the first time Fox will broadcast the event (SI.com, 12/4).

A judge in Brazil has "frozen the assets of Rio de Janeiro Mayor Edward Paes, accusing him of failing to charge the appropriate taxes" to the developer of the golf course built for the Olympics (AP, 12/9).
