O'Neil, Cashman Taking Part In Covenant House's Sleep Out Event

Several sports execs tonight are taking part in Covenant House's charitable Sleep Out event, including Yankees Senior VP & GM Brian Cashman and 76ers, Devils & Prudential Center CEO Scott O’Neil. More than 1,100 execs and business leaders in 18 cities will take part in the event, sleeping on the streets in solidarity with homeless youth. In N.Y., the Executive Sleep Out will take place from 7:00pm-7:00am ET at the Covenant House facility on 41st St. in Manhattan.

O'Neil in an email wrote, "Covenant House is an incredible organization that helps teens who are homeless get back on their feet. ... In polarizing times like these, we believe our organizations can do two things that really matter and make a difference: first, create a fun, unifying, escape where you can stand, yell, cheer, clap, sing and dance together with perfect strangers as family. Second, we can serve and make the world better – especially for the kids have the odds stacked against them." Find out more about Covenant House.
