UniFirst To Sponsor Hendrick Sprint Cup Team In Eight-Year Deal

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team Hendrick Motorsports today unveiled an eight-year pact with workwear and textile service company UniFirst that includes a large B2B component. The deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, will see UniFirst sponsor HMS’ No. 5 Chevy currently driven by Kasey Kahne. Eight-year deals are virtually unheard of on the team side of NASCAR, so this agreement underlines the strength of HMS relative to other teams in the garage.

As part of the deal, which starts with two races as primary sponsor this year and expires after '23, UniFirst will provide uniforms to HMS and Hendrick Automotive Group, the massive retail automotive chain that is owned by team Owner Rick Hendrick. UniFit will continue on as a two-race primary sponsor in '17 before increasing to three races from '18-23, and it will be a full-time associate sponsor on the car. Kahne’s contract is through '18, and his future with the team has been subject of much speculation this season, the second in a row in which he missed NASCAR’s Chase for the Sprint Cup.
