All Marlins Players Wearing No. 16 Tonight In Fernandez Tribute

The entire Marlins team tonight against the Mets will wear Jose Fernandez' No. 16 in the first game since the pitcher’s death in a boating accident this weekend (SUN-SENTINEL.com, 9/26). The Marlins will have "a moment of silence before the game" at Marlins Park. The team's front office also is planning on a "very muted in-game experience." ESPN’s Bob Ley said of the team wearing No. 16, "It doesn’t get any more simply eloquent than that" (“OTL,” ESPN, 9/26).
