Seth Winter Stepping Down From Role As NBC Sports Exec VP/Ad Sales

NBC Sports Group’s long-time ad sales exec Seth Winter is stepping down from his post as Exec VP/Ad Sales next month and taking on an advisory role for the network through '18. Winter will be “taking a step back from his work at NBCUniversal,” according to an internal memo NBCUniversal Chair of Advertising Sales & Client Partnerships Linda Yaccarino sent employees this afternoon. Winter has been a fixture at NBC since ’00, when he was hired to sell for MSNBC. He was promoted in ’06 to sell all sports on the network: NFL, NHL, NASCAR, EPL, PGA Tour, Notre Dame, horse racing, tennis and the Tour de France.

Under Winter’s leadership, NBC Sports Group posted record-high sales for the ’12 London Games, Super Bowl XLVI, ’14 Sochi Games, Super Bowl XLIX and Rio Games. “While we won’t see Seth around the building as much, we’re so lucky that he will continue with us in a new advisory role after October,” Yaccarino wrote.
