Venus Williams To Star In New U.S. Open Ads For American Express

American Express has tapped Venus Williams to star in four ads to appear on the company’s YouTube page during the U.S. Open. Williams and AmEx also will push the ads out through their social media channels. The ads, dubbed “Open Like a Pro,” feature Williams preparing for her day. In a yoga pose in one, her breathing is so heavy it nearly moves the blades of a nearby fan. Another opens with the sound of balls being hit and Williams’ head going back and forth, but a wider camera angle shows her choosing which dress to wear. Digitas is the agency of record for the ads.
