Devils To Offer Facebook Live Coverage Of NHL Draft From Buffalo

The Devils on Friday night will provide live content from the NHL Draft at First Niagara Center using Facebook Live. The Devils All-Access stream, featuring host Julie Robenhymer and analyst Ken Daneyko, will go live on the Devils' and NHL's Facebook pages as soon as the team is on the clock with the No. 11 pick. The stream will include interviews with the Devils' first-round selection, front office execs and national media members, plus live fan questions. The Devils will be the first team in the NHL to use Facebook Live to stream draft content.

Meanwhile, NHL Network will have its own on-site coverage from Buffalo on Friday and Saturday, featuring Brian Boucher, EJ Hradek, Brian Lawton, Dave Reid and Steve Mears. The telecast will begin Friday at 5:00pm ET with a two-hour preview show, followed by an hour-long recap show once the first round is completed. Rounds 2-7 will air Saturday starting at 10:00am ET (THE DAILY).

This year's draft could be "record-setting" for Canadian teams, "largely because all seven missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs." The net effect will be "a real bounty of talent heading to clubs north of the border" (GLOBE & MAIL, 6/24).
