Sharks-Penguins Game 2 Is Lowest NHL Cup Final Overnight Since '12

NBCSN last night drew a 1.9 overnight rating for Sharks-Penguins Game 2, marking the lowest-rated NHL Stanley Cup Final telecast since Kings-Devils Game 4 on NBCSN in '12 drew a 1.4 overnight. Game 2 of the Blackhawks-Lightning series last year aired on NBC. While last night’s game was down nationally, it drew well in Pittsburgh and the Bay Area. NBCSN drew a 27.5 local rating in Pittsburgh, marking the cable net’s best figure on record for any Penguins game, including the team’s appearance in the '08 and '09 Final. The S.F.-Oakland-San Jose market drew a 5.6 local rating for the game, which is NBCSN’s second-best figure on record for a Sharks game.
