MLB Giants See WiFi Use Jump For Games Coinciding With Warriors

The MLB Giants during their recent homestand at AT&T Park registered a 37% increase in the data use of their in-ballpark WiFi network during two overlapping Warriors games compared with the rest of the homestand. The club saw an average of 1.12 terabytes of data usage on the network compared to 820 gigabytes during the non-overlapping games.

“There’s been a ton of interest, obviously, in the market around the Warriors, and that includes here in the ballpark,” said Giants Senior VP & Chief Information Officer Bill Schlough. “During those times where we’ve been playing at the same time, there’s obviously a lot of activity around checking into what they’re doing. And we’ve worked to promote the notion of the ballpark as the area’s greatest sports bar.”
