Warriors, Lakers Secondary Ticket Prices Hit Record Levels

Kobe Bryant's farewell game and the Warriors' quest for 73 wins continue to push ticket prices to record levels on the secondary market. The average resale price for tonight's Jazz-Lakers contest is $974, according to data from SeatGeek, and it is $1,317 since Bryant in November announced this season would be his last. Prior to that, the average was only $183. This marks the most expensive NBA regular-season game SeatGeek has tracked, dating back to '10. The only Lakers game that is more expensive was Game 7 of the '10 NBA Finals, which averaged $1,165 on the resale market.

The average resale price for the Grizzlies-Warriors game is $546, but tickets purchased since the Warriors tied the 72-win NBA record on Sunday have cost an average of $889. This is the most expensive Warriors regular-season game SeatGeek has tracked, though last year's Finals games in Oakland easily exceeded it with a $1,371 average.

SeatGeek analyst Chris Leyden noted prices for the Lakers game "have continued to slowly go up" since Bryant's announcement, but the cost of the Warriors game has "bounced all over the place." The median listing price shot up from $439 to $559 after the Warriors' 71st win, then jumped to $1,152 after they beat the Spurs on Sunday. The current median is $770. The cheapest available Warriors ticket is $362, while the get-in price at Staples Center is $877.
