Execs, Athletes Turn Out For March of Dimes Sports Luncheon

The 32 annual March of Dimes Sports Luncheon was held today at the Waldorf Astoria in N.Y. Honorees were Fox Sports President & COO Eric Shanks, who received the corporate leadership award; former SEC Commissioner Mike Slive, who got the Sports Leadership Award; USWNT F Carli Lloyd, who won Sportswoman of the Year; and Bob Baffert, trainer of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah. Baffert brought down the house by telling the assembled crowd “American Pharoah could not be here today.”

A crowd of more than 700 from across the worlds of sports marketing, television, agencies, talent representation, teams and leagues helped raise more than $1M to help prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
