Target Center Naming-Rights Deal Extended; Renovations Pushed Back

The T'Wolves today announced that Target has extended its naming-rights deal for Target Center, and the arena will receive a new logo as part of the renewal. The naming-rights deal for the arena, at 25 years, is the longest running in U.S. pro sports (T'Wolves).

Also today, the T'Wolves and Lynx revealed that the arena's $129M renovation "won't be complete until 2017," a shift from the previous timeline in which "most of the work" was to be done in summer '16. The effort has been "delayed repeatedly due to rising construction costs" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 10/13).
