Adam Silver Comfortable With Isiah Thomas' Role With WNBA Liberty

In some of his most expansive comments since Basketball HOFer Isiah Thomas returned to a role at MSG, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver today at the SBJ/SBD Game Changers conference spoke in favor of Thomas having a role with the WNBA Liberty. Thomas was mired in an '07 lawsuit alleging sexual harassment while he was Knicks President of Basketball Operations. He left the team in '08.

Silver said, "Life is complicated. I don’t necessarily think it sends the wrong message in that people can make mistakes and then move on in their lives. I'm not sure what message we're sending by saying Isiah Thomas should never work in basketball again.” He added, "I wish Isiah would do more media. I wish he would talk more directly about it because in this day and age, transparency is critically important and people can make their own decisions.”
