Orlando City Unveils New Design Plans For 25,500-Seat Stadium

Orlando City SC on Friday announced plans for a new stadium design that will see the team "spend in excess of $155 million on a venue that would seat 25,500 fans." The facility, which originally was slated to seat 19,500, "will be the third-largest stadium in MLS." Orlando City President Phil Rawlins said that it "will be a 12-14 month build cycle, with completion of the stadium targeted near September 2016." The club will continue playing at the Citrus Bowl until the stadium is complete (ORLANDOSENTINEL.com, 7/31).
