Pete Rose Will Be On Field Before MLB All-Star Game

Pete Rose this afternoon on a Fox conference call previewing the MLB All-Star Game said that he will be on the Great American Ball Park field prior to the game as part of the MLB Franchise Four promotion. Rose will be honored on-field with HOFers Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan and Barry Larkin as the most impactful players in Reds history, an appearance that will occur with MLB's blessing. Beyond that, though, he intends to focus on his current role as an analyst for Fox Sports, where he will contribute to pre- and postgame coverage on FS1, as well as coverage on Monday prior to the Home Run Derby.

Rose said he has greatly enjoyed his new role with Fox, intends to stay with the network, and received high praise for his demeanor both on and off camera from Fox Sports President of Production John Entz. "I'll work for Fox as long as they'll have me," Rose said.
