CFP Title Game Ranks As Cable’s Top Program All-Time

ESPN finished with 33.4 million viewers for the Ohio State-Oregon CFP National Championship, marking the largest audience in cable TV history and second-best title game audience since the BCS era started in '99. OSU-UO ranks behind only the '06 Texas-USC Rose Bowl title game, which drew 35.6 million viewers on ABC. The CFP title game also is up 31% from 25.6 million viewers for Florida State-Auburn in the BCS Nat’l Championship last year. OSU-UO topped the audiences for three of the four NFL Wild Card games this year, but topped only one of the Divisional round games.
