Longtime Turner Lawyer John Cooper Leaving Company By Year's End

John Cooper, a longtime Turner Broadcasting lawyer who was an important cog in the company's recent NBA media rights negotiations, is leaving the company by the end of the year. Cooper, who has been with the company since '97, was part of Time Warner's plan to cut up to 1,500 jobs, or 10% of staff. In his role as Turner Broadcasting Senior VP & Associate General Counsel, Cooper managed legal issues for Turner Sports and its digital properties, in addition to the company's entertainment programming. During his time at Turner, Cooper served as General Counsel of three Atlanta sports teams: the Braves, Hawks and Thrashers.
