TBS’ ALCS Audience Figures See Gains, Continue To Defy Predictions

An ALCS with the smallest media markets on record continues to defy audience predictions, as TBS’ three games have averaged a 3.3 final rating and 5.349 million viewers, up 6% and 13%, respectively, from a 3.1 rating and 4.746 million viewers through the net’s comparable coverage of the Cardinals-Dodgers NLCS last year. Last night's Royals-Orioles Game 3 finished with a 3.8 rating and 6.0 million viewers, up 23% and 25%, respectively, from a 3.1 rating and 4.8 million viewers for Cardinals-Dodgers Game 3 on a Monday night last year.

All three ALCS games to date this year have seen gains, but today’s afternoon start for Game 4 will have a tough comparison to NLCS Game 4 last year, which had a primetime slot and did not feature a potential sweep.
