Uber Inks Its First Pro Sports Team Deal With NBA Kings

The NBA Kings have signed a deal with Uber that puts the on-demand ride service into the team’s app. The integration will begin on Oct. 29, when the Kings play their home opener against the Warriors. Fans will be able to use the Uber service via the team’s app for all home games during the upcoming season. The integration will also include a Kings-branded icon that will appear in Uber’s mobile app to request a ride to Sleep Train Arena. The deal calls for the Kings to distribute Uber credits to season-ticket holders this season. It is Uber’s first pro sports team deal.

“This first-of-a-kind partnership is part of Uber’s mission to change the way people move, work and live,” said Wayne Ting, Uber’s Sacramento GM, in a statement. “Sacramentans are already big fans of Uber, and now Kings fans can use the team’s app to make sure they get a safe, reliable and affordable ride to each and every home game at the tap of a button.”
