Las Vegas To Hold Town Hall Meetings On MLS Stadium Proposal

Las Vegas tonight will hold the first of six "town hall meetings" over the next two weeks on the proposed $200M publicly subsidized soccer stadium. The proposed deal with Cordish Cos. and Findlay Sports & Entertainment, which "has split the city council," calls for public funds to cover about 78% of the upfront cost of a 24,000-seat venue. Cordish/Findlay would repay 59% of the stadium's cost with rent and payments over 30 years. Findlay Managing Partner Justin Findlay said that he "plans to attend all six meetings" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 9/16).
