Sports Video Innovations Founder Talks Camera-Imbedded Helmet

CNBC's "Squawk Box" today examined the new helmet from Sports Video Innovations that features a "camera embedded in the design (that) allows you to see exactly what the players see on the field." The helmet has been "picked up for use in practices by more than 20 NFL and NCAA teams and the helmet makers are in advanced talks with two major TV networks for broadcast rights."

Sports Video Innovations Founder & CEO J.R. Liverman said comparing the helmet to GoPro is "not comparing apples to apples" because GoPro "is a camera" and the other is a helmet. Liverman: "It's the only helmet in the world today that's got an integrated HD video system … and can be worn by any player on the field in full contact, game conditions and practice conditions" ("Squawk Box," CNBC, 8/21).
